MR. Ringo Chan Wing Ho

(Founder and C.E.O. of MC Music Group)
2021 Hong Kong Top Ten Outstanding Young Entrepreneurs
Director and Secretary-General of the San Po Kong Chamber of Commerce (2nd Term)
There is no such thing as a perfect brand or company. A successful entrepreneur must constantly identify the problems that still exist in the industry.
Turning passion into a career has always been a childhood dream for many. The music industry is often dismissed as unstable work. As a musician in today’s society, would you choose to give up your dream—or prove to everyone that the music industry still has hope?
Ringo understands that nobody truly dislikes music. People quit learning halfway because they fail to sustain their interest. If a music school could be founded with the mission of offering comprehensive courses and well-equipped facilities, allowing students to freely choose the type of music they love, it would surely solve the problem of the industry being too monotonous and uninspiring. Mr. Ringo Chan Wing Ho established MC Music in 2012.
In just ten years, the brand grew from a one-man team into an organization with over a thousand instructors and staff, with more than 30 branches across Hong Kong. The company has earned multiple honors: Hong Kong Famous Brands – Most Popular Brand (2018), Hong Kong Education Achievement Excellence Award (2019), and Most Popular Music Academy in Hong Kong (2021).
Although the journey looks smooth, the business faced many challenges along the way. The most significant was the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak in 2019. What was once a steadily growing academy suddenly saw a massive drop in student enrollment. Ringo realized that staying stagnant would not help the company survive. The only way forward was to push the brand out of its comfort zone.
While the pandemic hit many industries hard, every crisis also brings opportunity. During this period, MC Music expanded from teaching into product development and retail. Ringo believed that with fewer people going out and more staying at home, affordable instruments designed for beginners to self-learn could thrive. His strategy worked—helping the company weather the pandemic and successfully transform into a music brand that integrates education, retail, and R&D.
His achievements were widely recognized, earning him the honor of being named one of the Top Ten Outstanding Young Entrepreneurs in Hong Kong in 2021.
To this day, he firmly believes: there is no perfect brand or company, crises can strike at any time, and true entrepreneurs must keep identifying problems, embrace change, reform, and sometimes let go—only then can a business reach greater heights.
